Senior Level Electrical Engineer

The successful candidate will be the technical focal point for nuclear weapon system surety and nuclear certification studies for the ICBM weapon system in support of government Surety personnel. They will work in a cross-functional team and be responsible for providing guidance on nuclear certification requirements and assessing compliance with applicable Department of Defense and Air Force directives, manuals, and instructions. Responsibilities will include performing detailed surety analyses for weapon delivery system upgrades, modernization and sustainment programs; reviewing and providing detailed assessments of Nuclear Certification Impact Statements, Certification Requirement Plans, Nuclear Safety Analysis Reports, Nuclear Surety Evaluation Reports, Nuclear Surety Briefings, Point Papers, and White Papers; and evaluating and recommending mitigations for weapon system vulnerabilities.

A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university and 10+ years' experience is required. Qualified candidates must have a comprehensive knowledge of the ICBM weapon system (including ICBM operations, coding, and targeting) is required. Experience with design, manufacture, and use of complex logic devices (ASICs, FPGAs, etc.) is highly desired. Applicants should understand Supply Chain Risk Management be able to recommend methodologies for detecting and/or preventing malicious hardware or software from being inserted into the weapon system. Experience in wired and wireless communication networks is desired. In-depth knowledge of nuclear weapon system surety policy and Air Force nuclear certification requirements is required.

Applicants should have highly developed interpersonal skills permitting productive interaction with technical and non-technical professionals, and must be willing and able to mentor less experienced personnel in weapon system knowledge and matters of nuclear surety/certification. Applicants must also possess the ability to communicate complex ideas orally and in writing.

Position requires candidates be able to obtain a TOP SECRET security clearance in order to access classified information (An active TOP SECRET clearance is preferred ). Inability to maintain a TOP SECRET security clearance will result in candidate being ineligible for this position.
